Response to the July 25 article on the Tuck Shop:
Mike Charnley (FN 70-75) also sent in a google screenshot saying:
“Back in the early 70s there was just this little shop, now converted, and just past Grindal House.
There used to be an entrance at the side of the house and we were often sent by prefects for a cheese and onion bap when the shop was closed – on a Sunday!
But a school tuck shop – no.
I rarely went in, just the side door during slave (fag) days as my body had a sugar issue so I used to go up the road to Blenkinsop’s for fruit!
